Meeting with KFOR Commander
The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, received today the KFOR Commander, Major General Ozkan Ulutas, with whom he discussed the security situation in Kosovo and Metohija.
The meeting also discussed joint activities carried out by the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR, the purpose of which is to monitor the situation on the ground and prevent crises and the spread of disinformation.
Emphasizing the Serbian Armed Forces’ strict adherence to the Military-Technical Agreement, General Mojsilović reiterated that KFOR was the sole legitimate armed formation in Kosovo and Metohija, since UNSCR1244 and the Military-Technical Agreement were recognized by no other parties except the international civil and security presence in the Province and the security forces of the Republic of Serbia.
In this sense, he expressed his expectation that KFOR would fulfil its mandate fully and impartially, respond promptly to any acts threatening the safety of citizens, primarily Serbs, and protect Serbian national, cultural, historical and religious heritage in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija.
General Ulutas is visiting Belgrade at the invitation of the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff. High-level meetings like this, which are held regularly, are an important prerequisite for effective cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR in an effort to improve the security situation on the ground and the safety of the Serbian population in Kosovo and Metohija.
