Ivan Marković Journalist Award 2023 is open for entries
Media Centre “Odbrana” invites media houses and journalists to apply for the Ivan Marković Journalism Award, which is traditionally given for the best media coverage of the activities carried out by the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
The award, which aims to encourage journalists to write quality news reports for the domestic print and electronic media, as well as to honour and grant public recognition to their creativity, is given in honour of Ivan Marković, one of the most gifted military journalists and editors in the "Vojska" newspaper, who died suddenly in 2003 at the age of 43.
Judges select candidates for the Ivan Marinković Journalism Award, which will be presented in a ceremony to mark January 24 – Media Centre “Odbrana” Day and the anniversary of the military press.
All professional journalists working for media outlets in the territory of the Republic of Serbia can enter the contest, regardless of their formal status. Organizational units of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces can also send their entries.
Entries containing original typed text, article clippings or photocopies, audio and video recordings should be submitted in person or by registered mail to the following address - Media Centre "Odbrana", 19 Braće Jugovića Street, 11000 Belgrade (include the following text in the attention line: "Competition for the Ivan Marković Journalist Award").
