Chief of General Staff visits Zastava Arms JSC
Today, the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, visited Zastava Arms (Zastava oružje a.d.), a joint-stock company headquartered in Kragujevac that manufactures and sells weapons.
During the visit, he spoke with the company’s director general, Saša Milošević, and the factory’s top managers about current projects, production capacity and plans for the future. After the meeting, he visited the small arms production facilities.
The Chief of the General Staff was presented with the quality management system overseeing the design, development, production and maintenance of weapons, the production of machines, accessories, parts and packaging and the performance of general mechanical works, as well as with the characteristics and capabilities of certain products that the SAF units are or could be equipped with.
General Mojsilović expressed his belief that thanks to considerable financial resources allocated by the Government of the Republic of Serbia to Zastava Arms for the improvement of its production facilities and adoption of new technologies, the factory’s technological capability to produce modern and reliable weapons for the Serbian Armed Forces would be improved.
A final qualitative acceptance of a new batch of small arms manufactured by Zastava Arms was conducted today, in the presence of the Chief of the General Staff. Thus, the requirements were fulfilled for the deliver of the products to the Serbian Armed Forces and their distribution to the units for further use. The acceptance was conducted by the MOD and SAF commission for the qualitative acceptance of finished products from the market.
The Chief of the General Staff was accompanied on his visit today by Assistant Minister of Defence for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović, PhD, Head of the Logistics Directorate (J-4) Major General Srđan Petković, Head of the Development and Equipment Directorate (J-5) Brigadier General Milan Popović, the Commander of the 63rd Parachute Brigade, Brigadier General Nenad Zonić, and the head of the Chief of the General Staff’s private office, Colonel Slađan Hristov.
