Ski Instructor Course
The Alpine Ski Instructor Course, organized by the Training and Doctrine Directorate (J-7, General Staff) is currently underway on Kopaonik.
The course participants are members of the Serbian Armed Forces who are advanced skiers and who will be tasked with conducting ski courses and ski conditioning programmes once they complete their instructor course.Using the most modern training methods laid out in a new methodology manual, the future instructors will train the members of SAF units who must possess the ability to perform missions in snow-covered mountains.
The course programme consists of theory lessons and practical exercises in which course participants learn appropriate methodology and skills. In addition to the team of certified SAF instructors, visiting lecturers and demonstrators from the PE “Skijališta Srbije” and Mountain Rescue Service are involved in the course delivery.
The alpine ski training is one of the initial segments of winter training for SAF members and provides a sound basis for more complex training in the execution of tasks in specific terrain and weather conditions.
