Training in combat use of armoured reconnaissance vehicles
Members of the Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion are doing collective training in an exercise area in the vicinity of Niš. The soldiers are being instructed in the use of armoured reconnaissance vehicles BRDM-2MS in cold-weather.
This is one of the regular training activities carried out by this unit in cycles throughout the year to make sure that professional members maintain their competence for carrying out intelligence work on operations conducted by the Serbian Armed Forces. During this training stage, reconnaissance teams are practicing tactics and procedures for performing reconnaissance patrols, raids and ambushes, and are perfecting the techniques of driving armoured reconnaissance vehicles on various types of terrain. In addition to practicing the execution of reconnaissance tasks, the unit members are also learning to operate and maintain these complex combat systems in a proper and safe manner.
Continuous training is of vital importance for maintaining a high degree of combat readiness of the Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion and the ability of the unit members to carry out assigned tasks in various tactical and weather conditions and on different types of terrain, thus providing intelligence needed for the success of the Army and SAF operations.
