Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces delegations lay wreaths to mark Veterans Day

Today, on the occasion of December 4 – Veterans Day, the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces delegations laid wreaths and paid their respects at Monument to the People’s Hero Milan Tepić and the Heroes of Košare Monument. They also laid wreaths at the memorial located at the New Cemetery, as a token of gratitude and respect for the immortal deeds of the soldiers who fought for the freedom of our fatherland.
Head of the Human Resources Directorate of the General Staff, Brigadier General Savo Iriškić, who led the MoD and SAF delegation, laid wreaths at the Monument to the People’s Hero Milan Tepić and the Heroes of Košare Monument.

Another delegation from the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces laid wreaths at the New Cemetery, near the Memorial to the Soldiers Killed in the Serbo-Turkish Wars and the Serbo-Bulgarian War, at the Memorial Ossuary to the Defenders of Belgrade in World War I and at the Monument to the Liberators of Belgrade in World War II.
Wreaths were also laid by veterans, family members of the fallen soldiers and associations fostering the traditions of liberation wars.

The Veterans Day commemorates December 4, 1912, when armistice was signed in the First Balkan War and when around 400,000 soldiers of the Army of the Kingdom of Serbia got the status of an old warrior, i.e. a veteran.
