Celebration of Day of 204th Air Brigade
Today, at the military airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica, a military celebration was held to mark the Day of 204th Air Brigade, which is celebrated in memory of 2nd December 1949 when 204th Fighter Aviation Regiment was established.
As the members of the unit stood in ceremonial line, the results achieved in the year behind us were reviewed, and the best individuals received recognitions, after which wreaths and flowers were laid at the memorial “No one said: “I don’t want to””. On this occasion, the best pilots and mechanics received scrolls of honour which are traditionally presented in memory of Major Zoran Radosavljević, the pilot who died defending the country from NATO aggression in 1999.
Among the reviewed achievements, a high level of competence of the members of 204th Air Brigade was particularly underlined, since it had been confirmed at numerous exercises and live firings in the country and abroad, as well as the advancement of capabilities of the unit by introducing new modern aircraft to operational use.
Commander of Air Force and Air Defence Major General Duško Žarković attended the celebration, as well as representatives of Serbian Armed Forces units, of local self-government bodies, Serbian Orthodox Church and institutions with which the Brigade cooperates.
