New Cycle of Creative Contest for Primary School Pupils “Our Soldier, Our Hero”
The Ministry of Defence invites all primary school pupils and their teachers all over the country to participate in the competition titled “Our Soldier, Our Hero”, and to win valuable prises with their creating works covering the topic “Great Battles of the Great War”.
The aim of the contest, organised by the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Education, is to promote military profession and to familiarise young generations with traditional national values.All interested pupils, from the first to the eighth grade, have the opportunity to express their imagination, creativity and artistic expression in one of three categories. In the category “Serbian language”, young lovers of literature can compete with a written work - a poem or essay, while those with the talent for painting will have the opportunity to present their work done in the technique of their choice in the category “art”, and those primary school pupils who opt for “technology” category will have a chance to express themselves with a brief creative video or a model, thus presenting their idea of the topic of this year’s contest.
The Ministry of Defence has prepared valuable rewards for the most creative authors and their teachers. The first ranking contestant will be rewarded the stay in a military hotel on the Tara mountain, while the second place brings a stay in a military facility for rest and recreation in Vrnjačka Banja, while the third ranking contestant gets a stay in the Military Establishment “Morović”.
We hereby note that the contest rules stipulate that the work should be an original creation that must not infringe copyrights or intellectual property rights of other persons.Primary school pupils who wish to compete in this contest should submit their work to their form masters of subject teachers by 19th February 2024. The teachers are to select the best works, and after the selection has been made, the works should be submitted no later than 4th March 2024 to the Department for Tradition,
Standard and Veterans of the Human Resources Sector of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia.
The ceremony of proclaiming winners and presenting awards is planned to take place on 24th April 2024.
