Minister Vučević Meets Minister Babayev
Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević met Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahil Babayev, who is leading a delegation of Azerbaijan, which is paying an official visit to Serbia.
Minister Vučević pointed out that the overall relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan are good with a tendency towards further enhancement. He stressed that one of strategic objectives of defence cooperation with Azerbaijan is to develop and advance military-to-military, military economic and military technical cooperation for which there is a lot of potential in the future.The minister of defence expressed his gratitude for the principled and ureserved support that Azerbaijan has been rendering for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia in numerous international organisations regarding the southern Serbian province Kosovo and Metohija.
Minister Babayev expressed his satisfaction at the opportunity to meet Minister Vučević stressing that one of the indicators of good bilateral relations between the two countries is the forthcoming meeting of President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev that is to take place in the Republic of Serbia on the occasion of the completion of works on gas interconnector Serbia-Bulgaria.He stressed that the cooperation of the two countries has been continuously enhanced, including the defence cooperation, and he expressed his hope that the upcoming period would bring the expansion of cooperation to other areas of importance for both countries.
