98th Air Brigade Day celebrated
A ceremony was held today at the military airfield “Morava” near Kraljevo to mark the 98th Air Brigade Day, which commemorates November 28th, 1949, when the 98th Fighter-Bomber Regiment was formed.
To mark the occasion, a static display was held showcasing the unit’s air assets, main accomplishments in the building of operational capabilities were presented, awards were given to the most deserving individuals and wreaths were laid at the airfield’s memorial. The ceremony was an opportunity to emphasize a high level of proficiency of members of the 98th Air Brigade, which they confirmed during the execution of all tasks assigned to them, as well as impressive results achieved as regards the provision of equipment and modernization of the unit’s weapons and military equipment, which has significantly enhanced the operational capabilities of the unit and the Air Force and Air Defence as a whole.
The ceremony was attended by Air Force and Air Defence Deputy Commander, Brigadier General Brane Krnjajić, representatives of SAF units, local self-government entities, Serbian Orthodox Church, institutions cooperating with the brigade and numerous guests.
