Đuro Borbelj and Elzan Bibić Win 4th Belgrade Half Marathon
Members of the Sports Unit of the Military Academy of the Ministry of Defence, Sergeant Đuro Borbelj and civilian Elzan Bibić triumphed today at 4th Belgrade Half Marathon.
Member of the Sports Unit, Sergeant Đuro Borbelj achieved the best result in 10-kilometre race, winning the first place with the result of 31 minute and 11 seconds. Professional soldier Slađan Vujašanin won the fifth place in 34 minutes.
Elzan Bibić, multiple national record holder and new member of the Sports Unit of the Military Academy, and a great boost for military sport, celebrated in 21km and 97 metre half marathon race. Bibić was several seconds shy of breaking the state record. Civilian Milivoje Jovović was sixth in the half marathon race.
Some 4000 competitors participated in today’s race and 114 of them were professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces, Military Academy cadets and students of Military Grammar School and Military Vocational High School who worthily represented the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces.
