1st Training Centre Day marked



A military ceremony was held today at the "Aerodrom" barracks in Sombor to mark the 1st Training Centre Day, which is celebrated on November 13 in memory of the day when the Centre was formed in 2006, and the day when a detachment of the Army of the Kingdom of Serbia entered Sombor in 1918.
To mark the occasion, deserving members of the unit were awarded and commended, a ceremony was held and a cultural and artistic programme was performed.
 
The overview of past year’s results highlighted successful training provided by the 1st Training Centre to soldiers performing their military service, members of the reserve and cadets. It also stressed that this unit of the Training Command had greatly improved the degree of training of active and reserve components of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
The ceremony was attended by representatives of SAF units, local government bodies, churches and veterans' associations, retired unit members, reserve members and numerous guests.
