New issue of “Odbrana”
The November issue of “Odbrana” contains a series of interesting articles.
After a brief overview of the most important activities conducted in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in the past month, there is a text in the STANDING POINT section dedicated to the Army Day and the members of the Army who have conducted 78 exercises over the past year, the most important of which were joint tactical live fire exercises “Joint Response 2023” and “Winner 2023”.
The first article in the SYSTEM section is a story about the First Army Brigade. In anticipation of its anniversary, this brigade has demonstrated, through the results achieved by brigade members in individual and collective skills assessments in more than 25 exercises, that it is ready to carry out all its tasks. The same section contains a text about various tasks of the Army Training Centre in Požarevac, as well as about the modernization trend in the Central Logistics Base, which awaits its anniversary making continuous efforts to improve its logistics services. There is also a beautifully illustrated report on the divers’ training conducted in the River Flotilla.
The 75th anniversary of the Military Film Centre “Zastava Film” was an occasion for writing a story about the oldest film production company in the region, which, as a creative and productive establishment, receives significant awards for its films today.
The ARSENAL section, which is one of the hallmarks of your favourite magazine, contains an overview of the 75 years of the Military Technical Institute, which, as the headline itself suggests - keeps pace with the global development trends. It also contains a text about an important jubilee – 170 years of “Zastava Oružje”, a factory that is the “cradle of the Serbian Defence Industry”.
We highly recommend that you read the INTERVIEW with the former minister of foreign affairs of FR Yugoslavia, Vladislav Jovanović, who says that throughout history, military neutrality has been our constant, as well as capital that we must not deprive ourselves of.
The November issue of “Odbrana” gives the readers an account of the appearance of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces at the 66th International Belgrade Book Fair, but also of the biggest stamp exhibition in the Balkans that was held again in Belgrade, after almost five decades. The CULTURE section contains a text about the promotion of Slavica Popović Filipović’s monograph – “Protectors of National Health in Niš in War and Peace 1878-1941”.
The PEOPLE AND EVENTS section contains a text about Dr Aleksandar Nedok, the oldest and still active member of the Serbian Medical Society, and another one about a rescue mission carried out by members of the River Flotilla saving a young man’s life.
The November issue of “Odbrana”, which you should definitely have because it is a “magazine that is read and kept”, ends with a text about the European CISM Conference held in Belgrade’s Central Military Club.
