Minister Vučević Meets Newly Appointed Ambassador of China Li Ming
Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević met newly appointed Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Serbia Li Ming.
On that occasion, Minister Vučević expressed profound gratitude for the unfailing support that China has been rendering for the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia. As he pointed out, the position of China in the matter of Kosovo and Metohija has always been sincere, principled and unreserved, which is but a proof of a sincere friendship between the two countries.
The minister of defence underlined the long-term strategic orientation of Serbia to pursue autonomous and independent foreign policy. - The Government of the Republic of Serbia - Minister Vučević added - despite all challenges, will continue pursuing a responsible policy of peace and cooperation, remaining dedicated to honouring international law and full implementation of agreements reached so far.
Ambassador Li Ming thanked Minister Vučević for the hospitality and the opportunity to meet him at the beginning of his duty as the Ambassador in friendly Serbia. As he stated, the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia was one of the first ministries that he had chosen to visit, which is a strong evidence of the level and significance of the defence cooperation between the two countries.
The Chinese ambassador stressed that the results achieved by previous two ambassadors in the field of bilateral cooperation were extraordinary, and he stated his intention to try to enhance the cooperation giving it new energy during his term in office.
