Sergeant Đuro Borbelj Serbian half marathon champion



Sergeant Đuro Borbelj, member of the Military Academy Sports Unit, has won the Serbian Half Marathon Championship in Čačak.  
Sergeant Borbelj has run the 21 km half marathon course in one hour, eight minutes and 39 seconds.

Besides winning the Serbian Championship, Sergeant Borbelj has also ranked second overall in this half marathon, which included several hundred competitors from Serbia and abroad, having crossed the finish line second, after Kenyan Stanley Kipruto.

With his success at the Serbian Half Marathon Championship, Sergeant Borbelj has continued his series of victories at national championships in 2023. This is his third champion title this year, after the ones he won at the national marathon championship in Belgrade in April and in the 10 km road race in Vrbas in May.
The race in Čačak has also been a test race before his participation in the 1st CISM World Military Half Marathon Championship which will take place on October 29, 2023, in Switzerland.
