Mechanized battalion conducts computer assisted exercise
This week, a mechanized battalion of the 2nd Army Brigade is conducting a computer assisted exercise - “Steel Manoeuvre 2023” at the SAF Simulation Training Centre.
The exercise is designed to test in a simulated operational environment the capability of the battalion command to plan, organize and conduct combat operations of the Serbian Armed Forces.
The exercise activities test the personnel’s knowledge of the rules of employment of a mechanized battalion, joint action with Army and Air Force and Air Defence units and cooperation with civilian elements. The emphasis is on tactical actions and staff procedures carried out during the conduct of an operation, along with a daily analysis of the command’s performance in the process of making decisions at all levels of command.
Computer assisted exercises are an important form of practical training for SAF commands. They provide staff officers and unit commands with an opportunity to improve their ability to plan and conduct combat operations spending minimum amount of material resources.
