Minister Vučević attends “Heroes Race“ at Military Police units' competition
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević today attended the “Heroes Race”, which is part of the Military Police units’ competition at the training ground “Beranovac” in Kraljevo.
Lieutenant Colonel Goran Tasovac from the organizing committee for the competition presented to Minister Vučević the results achieved in the competition so far, and pointed out the importance of the competition for the Military Police members.
Minister Vučević witnessed to the fact that all teams are well-trained, skilled and fully prepared, which, according to him, is crucial, considering the importance of physical fitness for all members of the Serbian Armed Forces. The Minister of Defence also expressed his satisfaction with the success achieved by the competitors who had carefully prepared for the competition and congratulated them on their team spirit, effort and commitment.
Over the past three days, the competitors have carried out tactical and fire missions that call for a high degree of skill and effective teamwork, excellent marksmanship, great mental stability and physical endurance.
The first two phases of the competition were "Shooting" and "Military Police Patrol Shooting", which involved carrying out fire missions in an urban environment, where the shooting skills of individual competitors and Military Police patrols were assessed.
The next phase was the “Military Police Patrol Lane”, during which the teams carried out individual and collective tasks, doing the foot patrol and motorized patrol lanes.
The last phase of the competition, and the most complex one, is a 10 km team race along a course with natural and man-made obstacles.
Six Serbian Armed Forces teams and three Ministry of the Interior teams are competing.
The race was attended by Head of the Defence Minister’s Cabinet, Brigadier General Goran Momčilović, Head of the Military Police Directorate, Brigadier General Milan Lazić, Commander of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, Brigadier General Miroslav Talijan, and Commander of the 2nd Army Brigade, Brigadier General Siniša Stašević.
