State Secretary Starović visits Republic of North Macedonia
State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Nemanja Starović attended ceremonies held today in Skopje and Kumanovo, Republic of North Macedonia, to mark the Handover of Chairmanship of the South-Eastern European Defence Ministerial Process (SEDM) between Bulgaria and Romania, the South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) Commander Handover between Greece and Albania, and the 24th anniversary of SEEBRIG.
Besides the delegation from Serbia - a full member of SEDM, the ceremony was also attended by delegations from Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, North Macedonia, Romania, Turkey, Croatia, Moldova, the SEDM Secretariat, SEEBRIG, NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Greece, OSCE, the EU military operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUFOR ALTHEA), the Balkan Medical Task Force (BMTF), as well as diplomats and military representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in the Republic of North Macedonia.
Participation in the aforementioned ceremonies is a confirmation of Serbia’s support for regional security initiatives, an active contribution of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces to the advancement of political-military cooperation in South-Eastern Europe, the recognition of the ideas of building trust, strengthening dialogue and promoting neighbourly relations among the SEDM member states.
