State Secretary Starović meets with newly appointed Political Counselor of U.S. Embassy
State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Nemanja Starović met today with the newly appointed Political Counselor of the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, Paul Jukic.
At the meeting, State Secratary Starović said that bilateral relations between the two countries are in an upward trend, that both sides have expressed determination to continue and deepen the defence cooperation, in keeping with Serbia’s strategic commitment to remaining a neutral country.
The Republic of Serbia, State Secretary Starović emphasized, is strongly committed to preserving peace and stability in the region and the world.
He said that Serbia appreciates the US support for the Belgrade-Priština negotiation process and is willing to continue the dialogue, because we strive to ensure a normal life for the Serbian community and all other residents of Kosovo and Metohija by peaceful means.
Paul Jokic, Political Counselor of the U.S. Embassy, thanked Mr. Starović for the warm reception at the Ministry of Defence and expressed his hope that the Republic of Serbia and the United States will reach a higher level of cooperation in all areas of mutual interest in the coming period.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy Belgrade John Ginkel.
