SAF members re-install pontoon bridge to Lido Beach



Members of the SAF pontoon units have re-installed the pontoon bridge connecting the Zemun Quay with the Great War Island, providing the citizens with access to the Lido Beach on the Danube River bank.
  The bridge with the load-carrying capacity of 20 tons, composed of 38 floats with a total length of 355 m, was re-installed once the conditions for its safe use were created and handed over to the tourist organization of the City Municipality of Zemun.
 
In order to ensure the safety of all the people crossing the bridge, a crew responsible for the safety and maintenance of the pontoon bridge is on duty 24 hours a day.
  The bridge will be in operation until the end of the swimming season, i.e. until August 31, after which it will be dismantled and transported by river to its home garrison.
