Pontoon bridge to Lido beach temporarily removed
Due to high water levels and the large amount of deposited material in the Danube River, which made the use of the pontoon bridge linking the Zemun Quay with the Great War Island unsafe, members of the pontoon units of the Serbian Armed Forces temporarily removed the bridge yesterday.
The reinstallation of the pontoon bridge is planned for later this week, when the river water level is expected to decrease and make the use of the bridge safe.To the great satisfaction of the citizens of Belgrade, members of the Serbian Armed Forces have been installing pontoon bridges over the Danube from the Zemun river bank to the Great War Island for years, and this year the pontoon bridge will be in operation until the end of August, when it will be dismantled and transported to the home garrison.
