Second part of SAF contingent deployed to Slovenia
The second part of the Serbian Armed Forces contingent that will take part in the humanitarian operation aiming to prevent and alleviate the impact of the catastrophic floods that have befallen Slovenia.
This group comprises 34 SAF members that will be engaged in supplying water and fuel, disinfecting buildings and soil, and clearing roadways using engineer means.
The first part of the contingent comprising 22 members of the Serbian Armed Forces and H-145 and Mi-17 helicopters carrying MEDIVAC and airlift equipment arrived in the engagement area yesterday and this morning they started carrying out their mission on adverse mountainous terrain in the north of the country.
The deployment of SAF members to Slovenia, who will stay there as long as needed, suggests that the Serbian Armed Forces are prepared for the engagement in reducing the disruptive impacts of natural disasters at home and abroad and that the Republic of Serbia is committed to strengthening neighbourly relations and regional cooperation.
