72nd Special Operations Brigade conducts intensive training
The 72nd Special Operations Brigade units are conducting intensive training and tactical counter-terrorism drills.
Combat teams, with the support of AF and AD helicopter units, are practicing vertical manoeuvring, combat in an urban environment, counter-terrorism and surprise raids, perfecting rope climbing and martial arts techniques and shooting different types of weapons.
In parallel with the combat teams training, professional soldiers who have successfully completed selective training and were admitted to the unit earlier this month as part of Project 5000, are doing specialized training. Over the next six months, they will undergo reconnaissance, sabotage and counter-terrorism tactics training, summer and winter training, as well as training in fighting and handling weapons, assets and equipment used in the unit.
Thanks to the basic and advanced special forces’ training, which is conducted in the 72nd Special Operations Brigade throughout the year, soldiers, officers and NCOs are extremely skilled in carrying out tasks in all tactical, weather and terrain conditions, thus contributing to a high level of combat readiness of this SAF component.
