Ministry of Defence delegation attend liturgy and kissing of relics of Holy Martyrs of Prebilovci

A delegation representing the Ministry of Defence attended today the Holy Liturgy and the kissing of the relics of the Holy Martyrs of Prebilovci, kept in the Church of the Holy Ancestors of God Joachim and Anna in Kaluđerica.
The delegation led by State Secretary Nemanja Starović also included advisers to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević, Nikola Banjac, PhD, and Predrag Rajić.

The Holy Liturgy was served by the church priests.

To mark the Feast of the Holy Martyrs of Prebilovci - August 6, their relics were brought out to be kissed by the faithful.
The village of Prebilovci has become one of the symbols of the suffering of Herzegovinian Serbs on the territory of the Independent State of Croatia. On this day in 1941, the Ustaše killed almost all the women, girls and children from the village of Prebilovci by throwing them into the Šurmanci pit near Međugorje. In June 1992, the Croatian forces destroyed the relics of the martyrs from Prebilovci and other parts of Lower Herzegovina by detonating explosives in the crypt of the memorial church that was being built in Prebilovci at the time.
