Second cycle of competitions for admission to Special Forces launched

Based on the Decision by the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić, the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces launched today the second cycle of competitions for the admission of new recruits to the 72nd Special Operations Brigade and the Special Purpose MP Detachment “Kobre”.

Young men and women up to 30 years of age can submit their applications until September 30, 2023. Candidates who meet general and specific eligibility requirements will undergo appropriate medical examinations and psychological assessment, followed by physical fitness tests.

Candidates who meet the strict medical, psychophysical and security eligibility criteria will be referred to selective training consisting of several elimination stages. The best candidates will be given the opportunity to join professional military service for a fixed period of six months with the possibility of extending their employment contract for a period of up to three years and its subsequent renewal.

What awaits the candidates who join the ranks of these elite units of the Serbian Armed Forces is continuous training, improvement, and state-of-the-art weapons and equipment. The duty station of future members of the 72nd Brigade will be in Pančevo, whereas future members of “Kobre” will be serving in Belgrade.

Candidates who have not completed military service under arms can apply for the competition as well. However, prior to selective training, they will have to successfully complete basic military training.

The Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces invite all interested candidates to demonstrate their sense of responsibility, readiness, courage and patriotism by serving their country as members of elite special units.
