Minister Vučević Meets Future Defence Attachés



Today, in the Guard Club in Belgrade, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević had a meeting with officers of the Military Intelligence Agency who will in the forthcoming period assume duties of Defence Attachés or Assistant Defence Attachés of the Republic of Serbia in the United States of America, China, United Kingdom, Belarus, Israel, Egypt, Hungary, Azerbaijan, North Macedonia and Montenegro.
 
To new defence attachés, Minister Vučević said to worthily represent their country, and protect its interests, and be dedicated to the development of cooperation in the field of defence and security with the receiving states. He familiarised them with the priorities of defence policy and focal tasks within the bilateral military cooperation with each of the receiving states.
 
The minister of defence stressed that the Republic of Serbia, as a militarily neutral state, relies on its own strength when it comes to the defence of the country, reminding that building confidence with international partners is our long-term orientation as well.
 
During today’s meeting, Minister Vučević reminded new defence attachés that they have been chosen in a process of a careful selection which is why they are expected to achieve good results, and to provide maximum support to diplomatic efforts of the state leadership in developing and enhancing the international renown of Serbia.  
 
Wishing them success in their future work, Minister Vučević expressed his belief that they will worthily represent the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, unwaveringly protecting interests of Serbia.
 
Director of the Military Intelligence Agency Major General Zoran Stojković also attended the meeting, as well as Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Predrag Bandić, heads of private offices of the President of the Government and Minister of Defence Žarko Mićin and Brigadier General Goran Momčilović, and Head of Defence Technologies Department Brigadier General Slavko Rakić.
