Serbian Armed Forces install temporary bridge near Novi Pazar
Yesterday, members of the 2nd Army Brigade installed a heavy mechanized bridge over the Trnavica River in the village of Trnava near Novi Pazar, at the spot where the swollen river had damaged the existing concrete bridge.
The newly-installed bridge has helped normalize life in the surrounding villages, which had been cut off from Novi Pazar since Wednesday due to damage to the road.The bridge is 10 metres long and 3.80 metres wide, suitable for pedestrians and vehicles weighing up to 10 tons.
At the requests of local self-government bodies, SAF units were among the first ones to come to the aid of people living in other flood and torrent-stricken parts of the country as well. They are in contact with competent services and remain ready to engage in flood relief efforts.
