Minister Vučević meets with Russian Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević met today with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Serbia, H.E. Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko.
Minister Vučević thanked the Russian Federation for providing continued support to Serbia in its efforts to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He once again underlined Serbia's long-term strategic commitment to maintaining its neutral status, without being a member of any of the existing military-political organizations.
At the meeting, the Minister of Defence informed the Russian Ambassador about the current security situation in Serbia’s southern province, Kosovo and Metohija, and the unilateral moves made by the provisional institutions in Priština aiming to cause conflict and destabilize the region.
Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko thanked the minister for his hospitality and the chance to discuss the current security situation in Serbia’s southern province.
He said that the only way to resolve all disputes was to de-escalate the current situation and implement internationally binding agreements, observing international law regarding the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.
