New issue of ODBRANA
The June issue of Odbrana magazine is dedicated to intensive training. We have visited members of the Banat Brigade and the Second Training Centre in Valjevo and covered the two-day military sciences conference “VojNa 2023”, which was held at the Military Academy in mid-May.
We have highlighted the acts of kindness of military policemen, Master Sergeant Branko Erić, senior sergeants first class Mladen Savić and Branislav Popović, and Junior Sergeant Dejan Čikarić, who provided assistance to the citizens who got injured in traffic accidents and offered them a helping hand.
We have also covered several anniversaries – the 126th ASEWG Brigade Day and the anniversaries of the Military Medical Institutions Centre Belgrade and the MMA Medical Faculty. The ARSENAL section contains a review of UAE combat vehicles that have recently been showcased at the International Defence Exhibition in Abu Dhabi – IDEX 2023.
The GLOBAL section provides a portrait of George Kennan, explaining who he was. The section contains another overseas story about the assistance that the American Red Cross and humanitarian organisations under its auspices provided to Serbia during and immediately after the First World War.

This issue’s TRADITION section has a large number of pages, because several commemorative events were held last month: Zoran Radosavljević Memorial Regatta, 25th Goran Ostojić Memorial and Balkan Friendship Jump 2023.
The SPORT section is dedicated to another anniversary - the 20th anniversary of Serbia’s membership in the CISM, a unique international military sports organization where members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces have a notable reputation, primarily because of the sports results they achieve.
