Minister Vučević meets with Chinese Ambassador Chen Bo
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević met today with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Chen Bo.
At the meeting, Minister Vučević expressed his deep gratitude to China for wholeheartedly supporting the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia. As he said, China's stance regarding the issue of Kosovo and Metohija has always been principled and consistent, which is proof of true friendship between the two countries.
The long-term strategic commitment of the Republic of Serbia, said the Minister of Defence, is to pursue an independent foreign policy. Despite all the challenges, Minister Vučević said, the Government of the Republic of Serbia will continue to pursue a responsible policy of peace and cooperation and it remains committed to adhering to international law and fully implementing the agreements reached so far.Ambassador Chen Bo thanked the minister for his hospitality and the opportunity to discuss topics of importance for the cooperation between the two countries. Mutual support between Serbia and China regarding the matters of sovereignty and territorial integrity and excellent relationship between the presidents of Serbia and China are a confirmation of a “steel” friendship between the two countries, she said.
According to the Ambassador of China, defence cooperation further strengthens the overall relations between the two countries and there is potential for further improvement in cooperation.
