Computer assisted exercise Response 2023

This week, the command and staff exercise Response 2023 is underway at the Serbian Armed Forces Simulations Training Centre, where the commands and units of the armed forces and the police are practicing carrying out operations.
Representatives of the General Staff, operational commands and special units of the Serbian Armed Forces, and helicopter and special units of the Ministry of the Interior are taking part in the exercise. The officer conducting the exercise is Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant General Petar Cvetković.

In terms of the number of participants, this is the largest national computer assisted exercise, which includes the preparation and execution of a joint live fire tactical exercise that is to be conducted jointly by members of the armed forces and the police at several locations in the Republic of Serbia at the end of May and the beginning of June.

This week, in a computer simulated operational environment, the preparedness of participating SAF commands to plan and carry out operations will be assessed and daily analyses will be made of staff work and decisions made at all command levels. The emphasis is on commands practicing staff work in the process of making military decisions, establishing collaboration, and commanding and controlling forces in the area of operation.
Computer assisted exercises are an important form of practical training conducted by SAF commands. Exercises like this provide an opportunity for staff officers and unit commands to improve their skills in operations planning and execution, using minimum material resources.
