Minister of Defence meets with Hungarian Ambassador
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević met today with the newly appointed Ambassador of Hungary to Serbia, H.E. Jozsef Zoltan Magyar.
During the conversation, the Minister of Defence welcomed and congratulated the Ambassador on his new appointment. Minister Vučević expressed his conviction that Mr. Magyar’s appointment to this responsible and important position would contribute to the improvement in relations between the two countries, and that in the coming period, they would continue to improve friendly relations and overall cooperation, including defence cooperation, based on mutual understanding and respect.
Minister Vučević said that defence cooperation with Hungary was very active, but that both sides showed potential and readiness to further improve it, particularly in the domains of military-to-military and military-technical cooperation, which would contribute to the improvement in overall relations between the two countries.
In these challenging times for European and global security, the Minister of Defence stressed, mutual support and cooperation between Serbia and Hungary is extremely important to our country and it contributes to the preservation of peace and stability in the region and shows how countries should develop and cultivate true friendship.
The Ambassador of Hungary agreed with the Minister of Defence that overall cooperation between the two countries, including the defence cooperation, was very developed and expressed his expectation that in the coming period, the number of activities would increase, to our mutual satisfaction. He also believes that he will help develop good neighbourly relations, given his thorough knowledge of the state of affairs in the Western Balkans.
