Military Film Centre “Zastava Film” receives Captain Miša Anastasijević Award
Military Film Centre “Zastava Film”, Public Relations Department, Ministry of Defence, has been awarded the Captain Miša Anastasijević Award for cultural heritage conservation. The award was presented to “Zastava Film” Director, Colonel Goran Ikonić, at a ceremony held in the University of Belgrade Rector’s Office.
The award judges explain that “Zastava Film” does not only deserve this prestigious award, but helps build up its reputation, and that their criteria for judging were moral and ethical values that “Zastava Film” fosters, the public nature of its work, the scientific and cultural significance and the humanity.
According to “Zastava Film“ Director, Colonel Ikonić, this award is a confirmation of 75 years of hard work during which this military film establishment, which has a significant role at the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, has striven to record history and save social values from oblivion.
- This award comes in the year when we celebrate the 75th anniversary of “Zastava Film”, which is an important jubilee. That is why we appreciate this award even more and it acts as an incentive for us to continue working, to be even more agile, even better in our mission – to record history in the form of motion pictures, leaving it to younger generations to use it, hopefully, in the right way – said Colonel Ikonić.
On behalf of the judges, the prestigious Cultural Heritage Conservation Award was presented by film director Veselin Grozdanić, who spoke about the positive experience of working with this military film production company, emphasizing that “Zastava Film” was the protector of our roots, a witness of the past and the protector of the truth.
This prestigious award is part of the "Path to the Top" project, which has been carried out since 2000 by the universities of Novi Sad and Belgrade, Novi Sad Media Invnet Company and the Public Broadcasting Service of Vojvodina. The Captain Miša Anastasijević Award ceremony was also an opportunity to promote the establishment of the Nikola Tesla Planetary Award.
