Practice and training with MiG-29s
The 204th Air Brigade's Fighter Squadron, based at Military Airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica, is currently undergoing intensive MiG-29 flight training.
The training objective is to allow the pilots to hone their skills and sustain proficiency in performing the tasks of controlling and protecting the airspace. Simultaneously, the pilots are preparing for live fire drills against aerial targets in the area of the Black Sea that they are to take part in, in June this year.
As part of preparations for the upcoming firing, they are practicing standard operating procedures for intercepting an unknown aircraft, engaging in aerial combat and engaging aerial targets.
The flying activities are being conducted in coordination with the 126th ASEWG FACs and with the support from the technical personnel in charge of performing all the checks, arming the aircraft and preparing them for flight and action.
The unit members will have an opportunity as early as next month to test the effectiveness of the intensive training they have undergone and to confirm their proficiency at live fire missile drills in Bulgaria.
