Routine training in SAF infantry battalions
Across military training grounds, exercise areas and the units’ peacetime locations, infantry units are currently being trained to conduct offensive and defensive operations of the Serbian Armed Forces.
This routine training is conducted in cycles throughout the year aiming to keep the professional personnel’s skills at a high level and to provide additional training to young officers and professional soldiers, who have recently been appointed to new duties.
At this training stage, soldiers and officers are practicing battlefield tactics and procedures and conducting fire practices using different infantry weapons and modern optronic devices in order to reach collective training standards and successfully perform all assignments at all times.
The trainees are using modern armoured fighting vehicles and anti-amour systems recently provided to the units, as well as different infantry weapons intended for providing fire support and destroying enemy personnel and weapons.
This training cycle rounds off with tactical exercises and scheduled live fire drills where infantry units’ effectiveness in carrying out assigned missions and tasks arising from them will be put to the test.
Continued and planned practical training and exercises conducted in SAF infantry battalions help professional personnel improve their individual skills, but also enhance overall combat readiness of these units, which is vital for undertaking combat action on all types of terrain and in all weather conditions, in coordination with other branches.
