195th anniversary of the Second Serbian Uprising marked



At the monument to Prince Milos in Takovo near Gornji Milanovac the 195th anniversary of the Second Serbian Uprising has been marked today.

In the place where Prince Milos called people to struggle for liberation, on the day of Palm Sunday in 1815, wreaths were laid by Serbian Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, Interior Minister Ivica Dacic, the representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbia Armed Forces, the Morava district, the municipality of Gornji Milanovac, the U.S. Embassy, and other organizations.

- Here in Takovo, where the Second Serbian uprising was raised, the true state foundations on which Serbia relies were set up. Memory of the past, fateful events and famous people are something that should be permanently stored, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said in Takovo today.

Appropriate cultural and artistic program, directed by Jovan Ristic, with a screenplay written by Milovan Vitezovic, was performed by dramatic artists from Belgrade.
