Premiere of documentary “Oflag”
“Oflag“, a documentary produced by the “Zastava Film“ Military Film Centre, Public Relations Department, Ministry of Defence, was shown at the Yugoslav Cinametheque tonight.
Through the testimony and account of the renowned film director Đorđe Kadijević, the images of occupied Belgrade and the fates of the families of imprisoned officers of the Yugoslav Army are brought to life. The personal tragedy and drama of Đorđe Kadijević, whose father, an officer of the Yugoslav Army, was held captive in the German “Oflag” POW camp, is a story that everyone who has suffered a similar fate can relate to.
This film was co-produced by the German Federal Ministry of Defence, and certain scenes were shot at the original location of the then camp.
The documentary depicts the fate of a nation and a country, and at the same time offers a glimpse of the causes of historical events that ensued in the decades following the Second World War.
