State Secretary Starović meets with Ambassador of Japan



State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Nemanja Starović met today with the Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Takahiko Katsumata, as part of the latter’s farewell visit to the Ministry of Defence before his appointment to a new role.
State Secretary Starović said that overall Serbia-Japan relations were good, showing a tendency towards further advancement, and added that Japan was one of Serbia’s most important Asian partners.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that the visits from Japan’s highest state officials to the Republic of Serbia over the past period had created conditions for further improvement in relations between the two countries, including the development of defence cooperation.

The meeting highlighted Japan’s increasing investment in the Republic of Serbia through the arrival of major companies that significantly contribute towards the strengthening of Serbian economy, development of advanced technology and higher employment.
