Minister Vučević visits 2nd Army Brigade at Kraljevo’s “Ribnica” Barracks
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević visited members of the 2nd Army Brigade at the “Ribnica” barracks during his visit to the Kraljevo garrison.
Minister Vučević, who was accompanied on his visit by Deputy Army Commander, Major General Slađan Stamenković, was briefed on the brigade’s organization, mission, history, dispositions and AOR by the commander of the 2nd Army Brigade, Brigadier General Siniša Stašević.
Minister Vučević commended the members of the 2nd Army Brigade for their engagement over the past period, saying that they had displayed high morale and great competence. He said that the Ministry of Defence would continue to equip their brigade with modern weapons and military equipment, and take additional measures to improve the standard of living of all members of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Today’s visit was an opportunity for the 2nd Army Brigade to present to the Minister of Defence its key tasks and plans for the coming period.
During his visit to the “Ribnica” barracks, some of the new, modernized weapons and equipment were presented to the Minister of Defence, such as the digitized 128 mm M17 Oganj self-propelled multiple rocket launcher, LAZAR 3 armoured combat vehicle, BOV KIV armoured artillery vehicle, Gvozdika, Pasars, and the universal mobile artillery computer station - UPARS.
Minister Vučević visited the 2nd Brigade’s memorial room where exhibits honouring the memory of the killed members of the 252nd Armoured Brigade occupy a special place, and the Chapel of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. The minister signed the guest book, inscribing the following words: “I am honoured to be recieved at the Ribnica barracks and amazed by the glorious tradition and history of this part of Serbia, the Raška District, the city of Kraljevo and the units of our armed forces stationed here. Honour to all heroes of our glorious history. Long live the glorious army!”
