Minister Vučević Meets Head of EU Delegation Giaufret
Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević met Ambassador Emanuele Giaufret, Head of EU Delegation to the Republic of Serbia with whom he talked about the participation in the first “Schuman Forum” dedicated to security and defence partnerships which is to take place on 20th and 21st March 2023 in Brussels.
Minister Vučević expressed his gratitude for the invitation for him to take part in the Forum extended by High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell. He pointed out that the partnership between Serbia and the EU in the field of security and defence has been lasting for more than a decade, and that it is in keeping with national foreign policy priorities, which is the Serbian membership of the European Union.
The participation in Schuman Forum represents a good opportunity to exchange views with ministers of defence of EU member states, high officials of EU institutions, and of other partners states and international organisations, with whom Serbia jointly participates in performing tasks of maintaining stability and peace in the world.
Ambassador Giaufret positively evaluated the participation of Minister Vučević in the Schuman Forum underlying that Serbia is one of the most significant partners of the EU in the field of security and defence. He expressed gratitude to Serbia for the contribution it had rendered to EU military operations and missions and he also conveyed expectation that the existing cooperation would be additionally broadened in the period to come though the participation in EU military mission in Mozambique.
