Strengthening military cooperation with France
The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, has paid an official visit to the French Republic, during which he had separate meetings with the French defence minister and the chief of the Defence Staff and visited several units of the French armed forces.
The two-day visit ended today with a tour of the Mont-de-Marsan Air Base (BA 118), where the SAF delegation was briefed about the unit’s mission and tasks, experiences gained from the operational use of the Rafale multirole aicraft, and the capabilities of the French military medical corps.
The Serbian delegation was also presented with the chacteristics of the Rafale aircraft, its maintenance and pilot training facilities, and were shown the response of an on-duty fighter unit equipped with this type of aircraft, as well as the take-off of a pair of aircraft.
Giving a brief summary of the visit, General Mojsilović said he was satisfied with the open and constructive talks he had had with high French officials and expressed his belief that, given the fact that the French defence ministry holds the defence cooperation with Serbia in high esteem and appreciates Serbia’s efforts to preserve peace and stability in the Western Balkans, would make a full contribution to strengthening both military-to-military and military economic cooperation between Serbia and France.
