Rotation of SAF contingents in CAR

Serbian peacekeepers who were deployed in the UN peacekeeping operation in the Central African Republic - MINUSCA, since last July, have returned to Serbia after successfully completing their deployment and handing over to a new contingent.
For eight months, our contingent, composed of staff officers and a Level 2+ hospital, successfully performed all its tasks, in line with the mission’s mandate, thus confirming a high level of proficiency and professionalism of the military medical service and members of the SAF in general.

They were replaced by a new contingent that will carry on providing medical support to UN personnel in Bangui, capital of the Central African Republic. The Serbian military hospital is responsible for providing first and second-level medical care to UN peacekeeping forces, basic dental care, surgical and other emergencies, and CASEVAC.
The Serbian Armed Forces started contributing to MINUSCA in 2014 by deploying medical and non-medical personnel. Besides level 2 hospital, members of SAF also serve as staff officers and military observers in the mission.
