Visit from Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence
Representatives of the Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE) have paid a visit to the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia.
A presentation was given at the Defence University on the scope and methods of work of this international organization, which was founded in 2013 as a body that provides expert assistance to NATO and partner countries on crisis management, disaster response, climate change, protection of civilians, etc. by organizing seminars, training courses and conferences, carrying out analyses and preparing strategic documents. The Centre’s programs are accredited by NATO, and besides Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Poland, the Centre was joined by Hungary in 2022.
The CMDR COE delegation also visited the Military Academy, where they learned about the organization and tasks of the Military Academy, with a special focus on the postgraduate study program - "Natural Disaster Risk Management”.
Besides members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, the CMDR COE’s presentation was also attended by representatives of the government institutions of the Republic of Serbia, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Demining Centre, the National Hydrometeorological Institute of Serbia, the National Institute of Seismology, as well as representatives of the academic community, including the Faculty of Security Studies, the University of Criminology and Police Studies and the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Novi Sad.
