Bilateral Defence Consultations with Italy
A delegation from the Serbian Ministry of Defence, led by Head of the International Military Cooperation Department, Colonel Nebojša Svjetlica, has paid an official visit to the Italian Republic, to attend the 16th Bilateral Defence Consultations between the Serbian Ministry of Defence and the Italian Defence General Staff.
Colonel Svjetlica and Deputy Head of the International Relations Office, Italian Defence General Staff, Colonel Matteo Zuliani, agreed that holding regular bilateral talks was an excellent opportunity to analyze the progress of defence cooperation face to face and consider modalities for its improvement. It was also stated that holding bilateral talks for 16 consecutive years was a confirmation of their importance for determining the direction in which the relationship between the two ministries and the armed forces should go in the future.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the cooperation achieved thus far and agreed that continued and improved cooperation in all areas was in the interest of both countries.
At the end of the talks, the 2023 Bilateral Military Cooperation Program was agreed upon and signed, opening up the possibility for further improvement in cooperation.
