Technical Arrangement signed between Serbian and Italian ministries of defence
A delegation from the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia has paid an official visit to the Ministry of Defence of the Italian Republic.
On that occasion, a bilateral meeting was held where the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Defence of the Italian Republic signed a Technical Arrangement for cooperation in the field of military technology, armament and defence industry, which derives from the Defence Cooperation Agreement signed between the governments of the two countries in Belgrade in 2013. The Technical Arrangement, which was prepared over the past two years, with memoranda of understanding signed with Italian defence industry companies over the past several years, is a framework for various forms of cooperation on defence technology.
Considering the fact that Italian companies are highly advanced in terms of technology, as well as the technological capabilities and advantages of the Serbian defence industry, there is great potential for and mutual interest in cooperation that would include not only procurement of weapons and military equipment, but also joint development and production, technology transfer and potential investments in the Serbian defence industry.
