Military Geographical Institute Day marked
A ceremony was held today at the "General Stevan Bošković" Military Geographical Institute in Belgrade to mark the anniversary of this research institution and the Serbian Armed Forces’ Geodetic Service Day.
On this occasion, the Institute’s most significant 2022 work results were presented and awards were given to the most deserving individuals, as well as certificates of appreciation to the institutions with which the Military Geographical Institute cooperates.This was also an opportunity to highlight the staff’s expertise and professionalism in carrying out geotopographic tasks in the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as excellent results the Institute has achieved in the fields of research, development and production.
The Military Geographical Institute and the Geodetic Service mark their anniversary on this day in memory of February 5, 1876, when the decision was made to form the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, which included a department responsible for surveying Serbia for military purposes.
