General Mojsilović visiting USA
At the invitation of Major General John Harris, Adjutant General of the Ohio National Guard, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, is paying a visit to the United States of America, during which he will have meetings with Ohio National Guard’s senior officials, civilian authorities of this U.S. federal state and the U.S. Department of Defence.
The official part of the visit began yesterday at the Ohio National Guard Command in Columbus, where the trilateral meeting of General Mojsilović, General Harris and the commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi was held regarding the activities that are being implemented within the Ohio's State Partnership Program with Serbia and Hungary.
The meeting discussed, among other things, the current security situation in the world and the region, the past cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ohio National Guard and the possibilities for its further improvement. During the talks, satisfaction was expressed with the scope and results of cooperation within the State Partnership Program of Serbia and Ohio, not only in the military to military field, but also in civil-military and civil to civil cooperation, and it was agreed to continue with the implementation of joint activities, primarily in the field of training, NCO Corps development and cyber defence.
General Mojsilović reminded that the year before last had marked 140 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and the USA and 15 years of successful cooperation with the Ohio National Guard. He said that the Serbian Armed Forces were committed to the further development of that cooperation and expressed his belief that in the coming period new bridges would be built connecting not only the members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ohio National Guard, but also the two nations.
During his stay in the United States, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff will participate in the Joint Senior Leadership Conference organized by the Ohio National Guard, where he will speak about the biggest challenges for the Serbian Armed Forces, their transformation, modernization and human resources management, and in the continuation of the visit, he will meet with the high U.S. political and military officials in Washington.
