Professional soldiers undergo training in River Flotilla
Professional soldiers who have recently been assigned to the River Flotilla are undergoing training for additional duties on board the River Flotilla ships.
Navigation, anti-mine and naval artillery specialists are undergoing the training on the Danube in the vicinity of Novi Sad, so as to be able to efficiently perform other roles within naval battle stations, in addition to their primary one.
In line with their specialties, the soldiers are being taught how to use naval navigation-information systems, how to communicate during joint navigation and how to operate mechanical and acoustic sweeps and naval anti-aircraft guns. The initial training stage takes place at the anchorage, whereas the second phase, which includes navigation and scheduled fire practices, rounds off the whole training process.
Professional soldiers’ additional training, conducted in the River Flotilla on a regular basis, ensures that the unit members are prepared for different tasks assigned to naval crews, and thus increases their resistance, resilience and overall ability to carry out missions on inland waterways operations.
