Minister Vučević hands over apartment keys to members of security forces
Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević handed over the keys to newly built apartments in the Denino Brdo neighbourhood, Kragujevac, to members of the security forces.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Vučević said that Serbia, despite all the hardship that had befallen it and the pressure that our country and our people living in our southern province had been brought under, did not stop taking care of the people, particularly those responsible for looking after our country’s security.
- As a country, we cannot and must not stop dealing with other topics and addressing other issues. And the attitude towards the people who look after and protect all the citizens of Serbia is one of the priorities of the Republic of Serbia and it must be - said Minister Vučević.
Minister Vučević thanked the members of the security forces for their daily endeavours to protect our people.
- This shows that the state’s fair treatment of the people who protect this country, who take care of all its citizens. A big thank you to all of you, no matter which part of the security sector you work for. A big thank you to your families and to all those who are involved in protecting our homeland, Serbia - emphasized the Minister of Defence.
According to the Minister of Defence, when a person resolves such a big life problem as housing, it stays in their memory for the rest of their life.
- They say that it is not important what you experience in life, but what you remember experiencing. I am sure that solving such a major problem in life, and the housing problem is one of the greatest ones, is something that each of us, including you and your families, remembers forever - said Minister Vučević.
Minister Vučević congratulated everyone involved in this project, which included the construction of 972 apartments in Kragujevac alone.
- It is a victory for Serbia and I congratulate the President of the Republic and the Government and everyone else involved. I think it is a great sign, so I congratulate all of you in the armed forces, the police, the Security Information Agency, and the Ministry of Justice. I hope the city of Kragujevac will build a nice kindergarten and school, everything that should be a part of this wonderful neighbourhood in Kragujevac and that you and your families will enjoy here. Congratulations to all of you. Long live Serbia, there is no surrender, no one will beat or defeat us - said Minister Vučević.
The mayor of Kragujevac, Nikola Dašić, said that it gave him great pleasure to be present at the ceremony where apartment keys were being handed over to the people who had dedicated their entire careers to protecting their country.
- Until just ten years ago, no one could even imagine that a time would come when people, particularly people working at the security agencies, would be able to buy apartments at affordable prices. This shows how dedicated the President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vučić, and the Government of the Republic of Serbia are to building Serbia as a powerful state - said the mayor of Kragujevac.
Among those who have received the keys to their new apartments, after 16 years of waiting, is Major Nikola Luković.
- This is extremely important for me because I have bought a flat at the most affordable price on the market. I have bought a three-room apartment and I will share it with my wife and two children - said Major Luković.
