Foreign military representatives receive briefing
A briefing at which information was given to foreign military representatives concerning the matters within the competence of the Defence Policy Sector has been held at the Central Military Club in Belgrade.
The activity host, Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Predrag Bandić, acquainted the foreign representatives with the current regional political and security situation, with particular reference to the latest irresponsible moves made by the provisional Priština institutions, which threaten to further destabilize the region and undermine peace and security.
He confirmed Serbia's strong commitment to military neutrality, addressing problems peacefully and strengthening regional security. According to Bandić, international military cooperation activities undertaken in the previous period have had a positive impact on overall relations with international organizations and countries with which we are establishing partnership and friendly relations. He pointed out that there was still room for improvement in cooperation in certain areas and maintaining a positive trend towards the improvement in defence cooperation.
During his presentation, Head of the International Military Cooperation Department, Colonel Nebojša Svjetlica, thanked the foreign military representatives for good communication, professionalism and contribution to the organization and implementation of international cooperation activities. He said that there was a positive trend in carrying out activities included in the annual plan of cooperation with foreign military representatives and emphasized our determination to further improve the level of activity implementation next year.
On behalf of all the delegates, the doyen of the military-diplomatic corps in Serbia, Colonel Ivan Berezovsky, expressed appreciation for this briefing and other activities organized in the previous period, and thanked the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces for the good communication and cooperation with foreign military representatives.
